Fed: Downer document further proof of committment to war - ALP
The federal opposition insists a leaked document detailing discussions between ForeignMinister ALEXANDER DOWNER and a New Zealand diplomat is proof that the government's alreadycommitted troops to a war with Iraq.
The document details discussions between Mr DOWNER and NZ high commissioner KATE LACKEYlast October in which Mr DOWNER said it would be difficult to remove Australia's troops-- even if war began without a United Nations mandate.
